GLT projects consist of two types:
(1) GLT acquires a conservation easement on its own account, either by donation or purchase, and bears responsibility for monitoring it in perpetuity, or
(2) GLT contributes to the purchase of a property or easement by another organization-in all cases thus far, the Vermont Land Trust. In the second case, the acquiring body (VLT) holds the easement and monitors it.
The table below summarizes the easements which GLT held or to whose purchase cost it had contributed. As of early-2020, GLT held 19 easements on its own account. Several of the descriptions draw on accounts in The History of Greensboro-The First Two Hundred Years, published by the Greensboro Historical Society in 1990.
